What kind of tips are you looking for? Certain diets, food to eat, etc?

well i eat pretty good try to limit carbs and bad fats no fast food etc, but with so many different views about what, when, to eat i just wonder whats working for ppl. Like i hear not to eat past 7pm but doesnt the body work on a 24 hr clock? lol then i hear it just matter at the end of the day how many calories you consume, but i did that n it doesnt seem like my body works like that lol just give me any pointers that work for you :)

One of my friends was telling me the whole dieting thing didnt work for her at all, she would lose a pound or 2, and gain it back the next day, she said that a friend of her told her to go all out for a month, 1 hour of step machine (cardio) a day in the morning before staring her day, and she finished my losing 5 lbs that month, and she could eat a little less cautiously. Maybe its worth a try! :)

I can see not eating starchy carbs after 6PM, but not eating at all isn't right to me. A good protein source before bed to last through the hours that your sleeping is a must. A slow digesting protein like casein would be good or something like fish.
Here is a good casein product.

Can you provide an example of what you'd eat on a daily basis?
To me it's not about a "diet" but a lifestyle.

hehe its true, its not just something you can decide to do for a month or 2 to lose the weight and then go back to normal eating, you gota eat healthy to lose weight and to keep it that way to keep the weight down to healthy levels

Exactly! It's a lifestyle.

It's not about finding the time, but making the time to prepare meals and schedule workouts in between classes, studying, and social gatherings. It's a lifestyle change that may take some time getting use to but after a bit of time it'll become second nature.

hehe, its a tuff one, at the start of the semester all goes good, but in engineering towards the end you find your self skipping the gym and eating crap quiet often.

That's only normal and what our body wants to do. It's up to you to overcome those cravings.

Hit up the gym by yourself if you need to. Training partners can come and go. Don't rely on he/she.

True, but its more encouraging to have a partner to give you that little push you need. And its not bad to have a dedicated spotter and not have to rely on others, who may have no idea on the proper techniques.

I hear ya. When I need a spot I only go to people in the gym I trust when it comes to properly spotting. Thats only a handful of people.

sorry been a while been so busy:( wanted to say thanks for the replies. fitness really has been a lifestyle for me for about 10 years now. i just find it difficult to find a specific eating habit and certain foods that works for me . my body has extremely slow metabolism i think prob due to eating to few calories and getting to too low of a body weight for about a year about 3 or 4 years ago (about 95lbs @ 5'4 tall). Since getting back up into a normal range now anywhere from 130- 140. I find i can lose the weight very quickly and have quite a bit of muscle, but can also gain it just as fast. Wasn't sure if there were many guys that could relate to this so i posted in the female section but any help was and is appreciated :) does anyone know an accurate way or where to go to see of my metabolism is normal??? i just want to be able to reach a weight and stay there lol

Quick question. How many meals do you eat daily?

well thats the thing about it all. i know i am suppose to eat 5-6 small meals a day but i never managed to get that many in. I did do about 4 a day for a while but that honestly that did not work out that great for me lol. that is why i brought up eating late at night because with my schedule i was eating pretty much right before bed to fit in the meal so i don't know if that was the problem. i am going to back and try that again though. It was super hard to eat that many times for me cause i never seem to feel hungry during the day. How many carbs a day do you think i should be eat. my protein intake is pretty good though. i can lose pounds quite quickly but keepin it off is the prob i fluctuate BIGTIME. Maybe i just gotta live with it i don't know lol but ur thoughts are greatly appreciated :)

Control insulin levels
• Eat five to eight meals per day: Large meals can create enormous an insulin spike, which can cause your body to store fat. Small meals create a much smaller, more controlled insulin release thus less fat storage and more fat loss.
• Never skip a meal: Keep the motor revving.

hey thanks alot i think that that does have alot to do with it. Have you ever used chromium and l-carnitine to keep insulin levels steady? if so u think they work? lol

Don't stress too much on diet to remain in shape. Rather I must advise, you keep every thing in line with your daily routine. I am sure you will enjoy life and try to manage your intakes in such a way to consume all you eat.
